My Left Foot (1989)
My Left Foot is a 1989 Irish-British biographical comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Jim Sheridan and starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Brenda Fricker, Ray McAnally, Hugh O’Conor, Ruth Mc Cabe and Fiona Shaw. It tells the story of Christy Brown (Day-Lewis), an Irish writer and artist born with cerebral palsy, who painted with his left foot. It won Academy Awards for both Day-Lewis and Fricker.
